How we use your information

We only use your personal information where we have a valid lawful basis for doing so. We will ask for your consent before using your information for a purpose that is not covered in this Privacy Policy.

To provide, maintain and improve our services

We use your information to deliver our services to you. We also use your information to ensure our services are working as intended, such as tracking outages or troubleshooting issues that you report to us. This is necessary for keeping to our contract with you.

We may use aggregated or anonymised data for analytics and measurement to understand how our services are used and make improvements to our services.

To communicate with you

We use information we collect, like your email address, to interact with you directly. We may send you transactional messages, such as security alerts and important changes to this Privacy Policy.

We may also send commercial communications, in accordance with your communication preferences, such as providing you with information about new features, surveys, newsletters, promotions, and other news about us and our partners.

To protect you and others

We may use your information to help improve the safety and reliability of our services. This includes detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, abuse, and other illegal activities.

This is necessary as we need to comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements. In some cases, we also need to use your information to protect our legitimate interests or those of a third party.

Disclosure to third parties

Brisk does not sell or rent your personal information to marketers or unaffiliated third parties. We only share your data with trusted entities, as outlined below.

Service providers

We have a limited number of service providers that provide services for us or on our behalf, such as payment processing, data analysis, cloud infrastructure, email delivery, and customer service.

We authorize those service providers to use or disclose the information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf or comply with legal requirements. We require such service providers to contractually commit to protect the security and confidentiality of the personal information they process on our behalf.

For legal reasons

It may be necessary for us to disclose your personal information to comply with applicable law or to respond to requests from courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies, and other public and government authorities, which may include authorities outside your country of residence.

We may also disclose information about you, but only where there is a lawful basis for doing so, if we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or violations of our terms and conditions.

Corporate transactions

In the event that we enter into, or intend to enter into, a transaction that alters the structure of our business, such as a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, or other disposition of all or any portion of our business or assets, we may share information with third parties in connection with such transaction.

Any other entity which buys us or part of our business will have the right to continue to use your personal information, but only in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy unless you agree otherwise.

Your rights and choices

We believe privacy is a fundamental human right, so we ensure that you have choices regarding our use and disclosure of your personal information — even if the legislation of the country you live in does not require us to do so.

We may send you commercial communications based on the communication preferences in your account settings. If you have agreed to receive such communications, you can withdraw your consent at any time. You may opt-out marketing-related emails via the unsubscribe link included in such emails or through your account settings if you have a Brisk account.

For your protection, we may need to verify your identity before responding to your request, such as verifying that the email address from which you send the request matches your email address that we have on file. In some cases, we may ask to see documentation verifying your identity, which we will discard after verification.
